HDG Steel Grating for Bridge Deck, Topside, Vent Boom and Walkway

38-W-4 carbon steel galvanized gratings

• Heavy duty carbon steel grating with galvanized finish.
• Fabricated by welding heavy duty cross bars (3.5" × 0.25") spaced 2-3/8" on center and perpendicular to heavy duty main bearing bars 1" × 0.25" spaced 4" on center.
• Cross bars inserted in slots or notches in the main bearing bars and fillet welded at one corner of each main bearing bar / heavy cross bar intersection.
• The bars should meet carbon steel ASTM A-36 frames and should be galvanized frames after fabrication per ASTM A123.
• Top of main bearing bars are to be serrated.
• Load band ends of grating with bars of same thickness as the main bearing bars.
• Provide appropriate fasteners for type, grade, and class required for the approved anchorage system. Include lifting devices.
• Heavy duty carbon steel grating must be 15.25 feet (4.65 m) in length. Please provide recommended standard fabrication width.
• Please provide a drawing for this type of frame.
• These frames will be used for a bridge deck.
• Quantity: approx. 450 units.

• Technical requirement:
  • Steel bar for grating shall conform to ASTM A36 or equivalent.
  • All grating shall be of the welded type with parallel serrated bearing bars and "Spiraled" cross bars.
  • All grating shall be hot-dipped galvanized and conformed to ASTM A123.
  • Material of the hex head bolt, screw boss, saddle clip shall be SS316.
  • Thickness of coating test conform to ASTM A123.
